Aug 28th - September 2nd

Wow this week just flew by!! That has not happened in such a long time! Haha ( with doing summer sales all summer!)

Thursday we went to see the hospital and if we work in the orphanage that is where we will go in the afternoons.  It is so sad to see the conditions that some of these children are in!

Friday we went to the orphanage and were placed in 30 min rotations where we could work with each group of children!  I loved every group and connected with at least one child in each group, so it was seriously so hard for me to choose my top 3 today (Sunday).  There was one room that had several kids with brain paralysis and other disabilities like that one where they can’t talk, or they can’t walk, or they can’t eat by themselves or all of the above!  In these rooms I would just sit by their crib side (because at this moment I did not know who I could pick up) and play with their hands or rub their back and sing them songs :). Crazy how in just 30 min I can already have so much love for them!

Saturday:  My roommate came to get me in the morning to go on a run and I am so glad she did!! It was so refreshing!   One of the workers from the apartments was getting married and invited us to come to her wedding so we drove 45 min to the country side to support her.  It was an orthodox wedding in a very small church where we all just stood in this small room around them as the priest married them.  It was quite the experience since I have never been to an orthodox wedding and because I could not understand anything they were saying or singing but it was still a super cool experience.  Once we got back from the wedding some of the girls and I walked to Vivo which is an American food hamburger place and OH MY GOODNESS!! It was so good!  Seriously one of the best burgers I have had in a long time!! And then we got gelato afterwards :) so that made it even better!

Sunday!  Today we went to church and it was so cool!  They have 3 sets of missionaries there, two sets of sisters (and ones a trio) and one set of elders.  They have little translator devices we all could put on our ear so one of the missionaries in all of our meetings would translate for us!

I am so excited for this next week because I will be working with one of the apartments for the rest of the semester and we will be able to have a more set schedule!
